Not sure whether you’ll take part in the 2008 ‘Best Places to Work’ survey?

Listen to what the CEOs from 11 finalist organisations have to say, then decide!

At our recent ‘Best Places to Work Seminar Series’ we took the opportunity to put the following questions to the CEOs of 11 of our finalist organisations. So don’t take our word for it – visit our website and hear what they say, and then decide! Hear their thoughts on:

  • Why should we take part?
  • What benefits can we expect?
  • Why should we continue our involvement and measure staff attitude on an on-going basis?
  • Is there really a link between engaged employees and our bottom-line performance?
  • What about the sceptics in the organisation? How do we convince them we should take part?
  • We’ve done the survey – now, how can we convert this into positive follow-up strategies

Our special thanks to the following Champions of Great Workplaces for their time, and for allowing us to record their insightful observations:

  • Louise Edwards, CEO, Perpetual Trust
  • Peter Bosworth, Chief Operating Officer, South Canterbury Finance Group
  • Gavin Ion, CEO, Waikato District Council
  • Barry Potter, Executive General Manager, GHD
  • Ben Harman, Managing Director, Retailworld Resourcing
  • Lesley Kennedy, CEO, Maven
  • Murray Holdaway, CEO, Vista Entertainment Solutions
  • Sanjiv Jetly, General Manager, Securities Commission
  • Harry Pappafloratos, CEO, Colmar Brunton
  • Paula Earl-Peacock, People and Organisation Director, Mars NZ
  • Roger Bell, CEO, Vero Insurance

Just 1 month into the 3-month registration period and already 120 organisations have signed up to take part in what promises to be our biggest ‘Best Places to Work’ survey yet – you too can be in good company!

JRA Sponsors The New Zealand Herald ‘Your Career Expo’, 27-28 September 2008

We are excited to announce our sponsorship of this major event, scheduled to be held in Auckland at the ASB Showgrounds on 27-28 September.

The Expo will be split into four pavilions, each offering employers and job seekers the opportunity to meet during one of the most challenging talent markets New Zealand has ever experienced. One of these, the ‘JRA Great Places to Work pavilion’, will attract visitors seeking to research organisations that best suit their needs or explore specific selection criteria with prospective employers.

“We see the ‘Your Career Expo’, and the ‘JRA Great Places to Work pavilion’ in particular, as an outstanding opportunity for JRA to share the knowledge it has gained over 15 years analysing the attitudes and perceptions of New Zealand workers, and studying the characteristics of great workplaces” according to Managing Director, John Robertson. “And the timing of the Expo couldn’t be better, given the surge in the interest organisations are showing in the concept of ‘engagement’, employment branding and beings seen an ‘employer of choice’.”

Keep an eye out for JRA’s regular contribution to the Herald ‘Your Career Expo’ column over the next three months, and do come along to the workshops we will be running during the Expo itself when we will be revealing the secrets of New Zealand’s Best Places to Work!
